Biography
Born in Garland, Texas to Gary and Barbara Nicholson, Travis was encouraged to explore his creativity from a young age. His father, an accomplished songwriter and guitar player, soon moved the family to Nashville in 1981 where he found great success as a writer and producer.

Although music continues to be a passion, it was always film-making that had the strongest pull, and in 1999 Travis enrolled in the fledgling film program at the local "Watkins Film School", with a focus on writing and directing. After two years in the program, he overheard one of his professors say that the Coen Brothers were filming "Oh Brother, Where art though" in Jackson, Miss. After several sparse resumes were sent back, Travis convinced an acquaintance in his screen-writing class who had scored a job on the movie to let him tag along to Mississippi, and he soon secured an internship on the set.
The Coen Brothers proved to be excellent mentors and inspiration for young Travis, and he soon left film school behind in favor of working on the Coen Brothers sets, moving to Los Angeles and working on "The Man Who Wasn't There" and "Intolerable Cruelty".
He has since worked as an assistant to such legendary film-makers as D.A. Pennebaker ("Don't Look Back"), Walter Salles ("The Motorcycle Diaries"), William Monahan ("The Departed"), and The Coen Brothers ("No Country for Old Men")
He has since produced 3 feature films, a television pilot, short films, commercials, and countless music videos. In 2012, a short film he produced entitled "The Arm" received a special Jury award for comedic storytelling at the Sundance Film Festival.
Travis is also an accomplished actor, with over 20 film and television credits. Working with such diverse directors as Clint Eastwood, Joel and Ethan Coen, and Harmony Korine, Travis has experienced a broad range of styles and techniques helping him to grow as an actor and film-maker.
His latest producorial effort, "Listening", is currently on the festival circuit receiving glowing reviews from the Hollywood reporter and Moviemaker magazine. Travis is in development to direct his first feature in late 2015.
He currently resides in Los Angeles and frequently visits Nashville.
