Meremblum studied with Leopold Auer and graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. He came to America and, after a time in New York, arrived in Los Angeles. In 1936, he founded the Peter Meremblum California Junior Symphony, which was dedicated to the musical education and enrichment of youth ages 8 to 18. Funded by his own money for the first few years, the orchestra flourished and became a desired place for young musicians (ages 8 to 18) to learn new musical skills, improve their technique, and broaden their understanding of classical music. Even though Mr. Meremblum passed away in 1966, the orchestra still exists today, a tribute to the man whose tireless efforts resulted in the betterment of thousands of young people not only in music, but in life as well.
