Born in Redmond, Washington, Paul Michael Bloodgood spent a great deal of his youth "on the road" touring the U.S. and Europe with his rock musician father, Michael Bloodgood, leader of hall of fame inducted, platinum-selling band, Bloodgood. Paul Michael performed with the prestigious Columbia Boys Choir in the Czech Republic and Germany, followed by various studio recording projects. Paul Michael received his first professional company contract at 19 with Ballet Pacifica and then continued on to Ballet Austin where he has had the privilege of touring to Europe, the Joyce Theater in New York City, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., as well as performing with Grammy Award Winning artist, Shawn Colvin and as a principal guest artist with the Suzanne Farrell Ballet. Paul Michael has performed principal roles such as Hamlet in Hamlet, Romeo in Romeo & Juliet, Albrecht in Giselle, and Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew just to name a few. Paul Michael is a three-time Austin Critics Award recipient and has helped create over 45 original works, with past repertoire including: Tharp, Taylor-Corbet, Goh, Rhoden, Fonte, Thatcher, Mills and Balanchine, among many others. As an actor, Paul Michael performed in musical theater productions as a child - including the Fairground Boy in an AEA production of Carousel - before actively pursuing roles in film and television in his late teens. One of Paul Michael's first film projects in LA as an actor was a supporting role with Mena Suvari in the music video "Teenage Dirtbag" for the feature film, Loser. Other notable appearances include television's Mostly True Stories and feature films such as Forest Whitaker's First Daughter, Richard Linklater's Bernie, Lee Tamahori's XXX: State of the Union and Michael Bay's blockbuster, Transformers. Paul Michael has worked on over 22 independent film projects, including William D. Hogan's award-winning Soldier of God, Terry Zwigoff's Art School Confidential, Rene Hinojosa's The Flag, Steve Wolf's Bending Light, Chris Obal's The Last Day of Joseph Goebbels, and Jim O'Quinn's The War Inside. Paul Michael is taking extensive martial arts training from Grand Master Wonik Yi (Sin City) for his upcoming lead role as The Bounty Hunter in Rene Hinojosa's Templar: Honor Among Thieves. In his feature length directorial debut, the documentary In the Trenches of Rock and Roll is in post-production with a slated release set for 2014.
