Nina Quartero was born Gladys Quartararo on March 17, 1908 in New York Ciy. She came from a close family and was the youngest of seven children. Nina was signed by D.W. Griffith when she was a teenager. She appeared in a number of silent films billed as "Gladys Quartero" and in April 1924 she was on the cover of Movie Weekly. Unhappy with the way her career was going she left D.W. Griffith and moved to California. She landed a role in the 1928 western Driftin' Sands. Read more...
