Meryl Jones Williams was born in Staten Island, New York to parents Karen Jones and Mark Joseph Williams. She is the second oldest of four children and her siblings are Emily, George, and Rebecca. She was raised outside of the city in a small town of New Jersey and moved back to New York City to attend college at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she met her now husband, James Thacher. They were married in August of 2014 outside of San Francisco, her second home. She presently resides and works from Brooklyn, New York.
