Markus Potter is a director, producer, and artistic director of NewYorkRep, Directing and producing credits include The Velocity on Autumn on Broadway (Estelle Parsons Tony Nomination), Stalking the Bogeyman off-Broadway (Commercial, open-ended at New World Stages, Black Wizard/ Blue Wizard By Dave Malloy (composer of Natasha Pierre and The Great comet of 1812), Why You Beasting by David Don Miller (Best of FringeNYC, then transferred to the Players theatre off-Broadway), Potter adapted and directed the world premiere of Stalking the Bogeyman at the North Carolina stage company. As an actor, The Guthrie Theatre, under the leadership of Joe Dowling, Long Wharf under Barry Edelstein, the Denver Center under Kent Thompson, American Conservatory Theatre, Berkeley Rep, San Francisco Shakespeare, Chautauqua theatre company, California Shakespeare Festival, Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Cherry Lane Theatre, the tour of Death of a Salesman with Christopher Lloyd, Midtown Theatre Festival (MITF best actor award), Studio Theatre, DC and many more. Potter received an MFA from Columbia University under the leadership of Kristin Linklater, Anne Bogart, and Andre Serban. Potter has taught and directed at several of the MFA/BFA programs around the county including the Guthrie, The Denver Center, Adelphi University, and many more.
