The youngest of three children Michaels grew up in a small southern community. She spent summers on her grandparent's farm in South Carolina where she played hide and seek in the corn field, and rode the neighbor's mule through his pine groves. She moved to Southern California in her early 20's to pursue a career in the film industry. Michaels started modeling and doing television commercials while studying acting, and working as a busy make-up artist for popular glamor photographers. A year later executive producer Leonard Katzman requested Michaels return to "Dallas" in the new role of Jeanne O'Brien, a real estate agent who has a romantic fling with Bobby Ewing. In an interview for a book about the popular television show, Michaels was quoted as saying "working with Patrick Duffy was a joy, he is a true professional and gentleman". On the daytime series "Santa Barbara" Michaels took on the feisty role of Santana Andrada working opposite actors A. Martinez, and Lane Davies. She played the role of Nora in the Beverly Hills Playhouse production of "All This and Moonlight with fellow daytime actress Mary Beth Evans. Michaels has written several screenplays, is working on a book, and under the Jasmine Road LLC umbrella, is producing a feature film with her partners. She is married to Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon Dr. Richard W. Fleming, has three cats, Sport, Scooter, and Dice who she fondly refers to as Baby Huey because the not so little guy, never stops growing. Michaels remains an avid equestrian, loving and riding horses most of her life.
