Composer, songwriter ("Will You Remember?", "Love Is Just Around the Corner"), author and producer, educated in high school and a music student of Louis Oesterle. He wrote the Broadway stage scores for "Queen o' Hearts", "Be Yourself", "Captain Jinks", "Queen High", "Ups-a-Daisy", and "Ballyhoo of 1932". Arriving in Hollywood, he wrote for and produced Paramount films, and film songs. Joining ASCAP in 1923, his chief musical collaborators included Oscar Hammerstein II, Ira Gershwin, Buddy G. DeSylva, Robert Simon, E.Y. "Yip" Harburg, Leo Robin, Johnny Mercer, and Harlan Thompson. Read more...
