Kara began her entertainment career while working as Community Relations Manager for the San Diego Spirit of the WUSA (Women's United Soccer Association) with a role on Super Bowl XXXVII as Host Committee Lead for the Halftime Show, which featured No Doubt, Shania Twain, and Sting. Kara moved to Los Angeles, where she worked on the Oscars, Emmys, Comedy Central Awards ("The Commies"), and NBC / DreamWorks pilot called "The Ripples" which starred Adam Arkin, Diane Farr, and Chris Marquette.
