Igor Pecenjev is a professional film actor. He is an international actor trained in London and Prague. Igor was born in Croatia which is now part of the EU, though his ancestors came from Ukraine which was once part of the Russian Empire. Igor's great-grandfather Ivan Pecenjev was a Russian Imperial Guard officer during The Russian Revolution, in order to protect his family he moved to the Balkans. Ivan worked as a miner to start a new life and raise his family. His son Slavko (Igor's grandfather) moved to Bjelovar. Read more... most of his life with his family. Mother Jasna and father Marijan supported their children Igor and Dino to fight for their dreams. Dino is a guitar player and Igor has dedicated his time to acting ever since primary school. It took years of persistence for Igor to achieve an acting career. As a child he was part of the EDERED (European Children's Encounter) as a representative of Croatia. During High School days in Bjelovar he played in a hometown theatre group, where he played several notable roles. His theatre group toured festivals in Croatia and Europe, where Igor's leading man potential was recognized and noted by drama professionals. At the end of his High school education at the Bjelovar Gymnasium he was awarded "Fond Boza Tvrtkovic" the annual award for his academic results and theatre work. After High School Igor pursued acting schools because he wanted to be a trained and crafted actor. His parents encouraged him to earn an economy degree. He graduated as a Bachelor of Economy in 2010 and later specialized as a Project Manager and Investor Relations Manager. Those qualifications enabled him to be able to create strong and believable power suit characters such as a business man, stock holder, lawyer etc. During his economy undergraduate studies Igor trained in 2009 at Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London where he finished a course in Shakespeare and contemporary theatre. His English language skills improved a lot after that training. In 2011 Igor made the decision to move to Canada for the period of a year where he gained his first film and TV experience. Working with Colin Farrell on the Total Recall remake was a dream come true for him, but his scene didn't pass the editor's desk. Working on the Pacific Rim with Guillermo del Toro was Igor's big screen debut alongside his friend, stunt actor, Goran Stjepanovic. At the end of his year in Canada, Igor had a role in Defiance's opening episode where he played heroic Miner who survived a mine collapse. It was destiny. Igor's first role was destiny because his great-grandfather Ivan (who worked as a miner) was a Pecenjev family hero when he moved to Croatia to save his family. Igor returned to Europe with valuable acting experience. His English became a strong asset as an actor. With an ear for languages he broadened his playing range in international productions. The final step for him was to train for the film career. Igor was accepted to Prague Film School where he developed his craft to a higher level with an emphasis on technique for the camera. During his training in Prague, Igor worked with young talented director Sean van Leijenhorst on "Enter the Light", a short movie. Both of them were awarded annual awards, Sean as the Best Director and Igor as the Best Actor 2014. During the training in Prague, Nancy Bishop who is a C.S.A. and an Emmy-nominated casting director discovered his talent and cast Igor as a SWAT Leader in Crossing Lines. For more than half of his life Igor Pecenjev has been dedicated to the acting profession and developing his craft. With the current projects (Double-O, etc.) he is on his way to unleash his full potential. Hard work and dedication earned him the right to have a taste of the big screen. Igor's hobby is a long distance running. Sport has always been a part of his life (soccer, tennis, tae kwon do, american football, bodybuilding, fitness etc..). He has completed 3 full marathons (42km long), one half marathon (21km) and several 10km road races.
