Griffin Hood was born in Greenville, Mississippi, but moved to Alabama in the 3rd grade and lived there through College. Growing up he was always entertaining family members, but never thought of acting as a career path. Through high school he played sports and had his mind set that he would play baseball in college. After several rejections from college teams he soon realized that baseball just wasn't going to cut it. He attended the University of Montevallo where as a sophomore he became interested in theatre. In May 2006 Griffin graduated from The University of Montevallo with a B.A. Read more... and a minor in General Business. Although his roots are in theatre he strives to make a career in film. In the spring of 2006 Griffin and his producing partner Barry Battles produced their first short film together "Mr. Extion". After debuting on the festival circuit in January of 2007 the film went on to screen at 38 film festivals across the country garnering 13 awards. In November of 2007 Griffin made the move to Los Angeles to further pursue his career in acting.
