George Zuckerman was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 10, 1916. His career as a screenwriter in Hollywood began in the mid-1940s. Zuckerman's most famous movies, "Written on the Wind" and "The Tarnished Angels" were both directed by Douglas Sirk. "Written on the Wind" is considered Sirk's finest melodrama, and "Tarnished Angels" was William Faulkner's favorite adaptation of any of his novels.
