Now transported into the world of commercials by the Wyndham Rewards Wizard (aka Tormund Giantsbane from "Game of Thrones"), George started acting at The Metropolitan Opera in Kindergarten as the little boy in "Madama Butterfly". While his older brother was singing in the Children's Chorus there, young George sat quietly in the cafeteria during rehearsals, doing his homework. One day his mother received a call from the director of "Madama Butterfly" asking to audition "the little blond boy from the cafeteria. Read more... "got knocked into the orchestra pit when she came back onstage with the conductor for his bow. But kimono-clad and courageous, he performed well enough to land himself another Met acting role: as the blond Philistine child in "Samson et Dalila", he guided Plácido Domingo as the blinded Samson in his struggle against Dalila, portrayed by Shirley Verrett. George then joined his big brother in the chorus, singing and acting in "La Bohème", "Andrea Chénier", "Un Ballo in Maschera", "Faust", "Turandot", and also in "Otello" at Carnegie Hall, starring Luciano Pavarotti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. His time as an opera kid then came to a great end with the role of the 3rd Spirit in "The Magic Flute" with The Bronx Opera. Opening a new window at the age of ten, George portrayed Patrick Dennis in "Mame" at The Candlewood Playhouse, starring Shani Wallis and Samantha Eggar. Many school theatre credits later, George graduated from Manhattan's Trinity School, en route to Princeton University, where as a freshman he performed musical comedy with the renowned Triangle Club at McCarter Theatre. In typical blundering fashion, his bustier fell off during the kick line, the historic all-male drag dance number that closes the show. After performing in off-off-Broadway Shakespeare productions in his native NYC, George would later graduate from Princeton with a degree in Comparative Literature, focusing in Spanish, which he learned starting in seventh grade at school and by watching telenovelas. Butts' first breakthrough for the camera came in 2013 with the radio DJ Randy, the lead role in the reenactment drama "Unfaithful: Stories of Betrayal" on the Oprah Winfrey Network, and since then he has fleshed out his career with guest-starring roles in Spanish television and now his native English debut as "Stu the Businessman" in the "Waffle Wizard" commercial for the 2015 Wyndham Worldwide TV ad campaign.
