Fred Sadoff was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 21, 1926 to Henry Sadoff from Philadelphia and Bertha Leib Sadoff from Russia. He was the youngest in the family, his older brother Robert having been born in 1921. He served a year in the military from 1943-1944 and, when he got out, decided to give acting a try.
