Biography
Edward James Coupland was born in Sheffield, England. A very creative child with a vivid imagination, Edward decided that he wanted to become an actor at an early age after seeing Disney's Peter Pan.
He began serious acting study at the age of 15, beginning with school plays and later taking Theatre Studies as well as English Language and Sociology as of part of his A-Levels. Read more... Edward then decided to take a gap year and traveled the world for 6 months to further enhance his skills and gain greater life experience - in which he asserts played a crucial role in his development, both as an artist and as a human being.
On his return, he began to audition for Drama Schools in the UK and it was during this time in London that he met the highly acclaimed and renowned acting coach, Paul Gregory (Laurence Olivier, Robert De Niro, Judi Dench, Ken Brannagh, RSC, Henry V) and began study with him. He was then accepted into several Drama School in London, but after much deliberation opted instead to train with Paul and and be available to pursue able to work at the same time (although he was later to attend a 1 year intensive course at RADA to broaden his training)
Shortly after this, Edward landed the leading role in 'Son's of Paradise' - A dramatic love story set in the French trenches of World War I written by Joyce Halliday, to commemorate the death of the last surviving Tommy from World War I. Edward received phenomenal reviews in the National Press and it was at this time that he decided to make the move to London on a permanent basis, becoming a member of British Equity in the process.
Edward appeared in a number of short films, theatre and national commercials during the course of the next two years, then auditioned and landed the leading role of Soren Steffanson, in the horror feature film 'Spo0k', which was filmed in Javier, Spain and due to be released in the US in February 2015.
It was after this that Ed made the decision to make the move to Los Angeles, to make the next step in his career. Since arriving in LA in the Spring of 2013, Ed has landed a guest star role on US TV show 'Tattoo Nightmares' and the leading role of Luke in the short film 'Bottlenose', produced and directed by Kevin Greutert (SAW V & SAW 3D).
Shortly afterwards Ed then won a leading role in the indie comedy feature film 'Bikini Model Academy'' featuring Gary Busey and Morgan Fairchild and also made a guest appearance alongside Leona Lewis on 'E!'s 'Fashion Police' with the late Joan Rivers.
