Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Donovan studied theatre with Tony Award Winner, Joseph A. Walker. After a few years of performing with Walker's Intoto Theatre Company, Donovan continued his training and earned a BA degree from Temple University. His favorite roles on stage include "Wendal" (Before it Hits Home) for First World Theatre Ensemble, "David" (Amen Corner) for Intoto Theatre Company, "Moose the Mooch" (Central Avenue) for InterAct Theatre Company, and "Stokes" (Trick the Devil) for Freedom Repertory Theatre.
