As a child Cherie's mother would take her to Saturday matinées and it was the one place she found escape from the small town she grew up. Her love of the cinema grew; but, life had other plans as she became a teacher. She used film as a tool to teach her students in foreign countries English as well as teaching videography in Germany where she made her first student film. She met director/producer Richard Clark, Jr. who gave her the opportunity to soar higher that she could ever image. She also met casting director, Maxann Crotts, who became her mentor and friend. It is to God she gives credit along with Richard, Maxann, and her family's support for making her the person she is today... Cherie is the daughter of Charlie and Ann Pressley. She was born in Concord, North Carolina. She graduated at Northwest Cabarrus High School and is an alumna of Gardner-Webb University where she studied World History. Cherie is the wife of retired USAF Tech Sgt. Dale R. Lawson, mother of Erik J. Lawson, and Elizabeth Ashley Lawson. She is the grandmother of the 3. Of the many awards she has received in her life from schools, the United States government her family is what she is most proud. She is very involved with her charities that promote Worldwide Victim Abuse Awareness and Gulf War Veterans.
