Caroline Langrishe was born to a Lloyd's underwriter and baronet on 10 January 1958. She did repertory at the Bristol Old Vic, Churchill Theatre, Bromley and the Nottingham Playhouse in England and then moved on to professional theatre and small roles in movies and television. Her first real entry into television was Play for Today: The Flipside of Dominick Hide (1980) by the BBC in 1980.
