Biography

Buck and Bubbles were stride piano and tap dance team Ford Lee "Buck" Washington (1903-1955)and John "Bubbles" Sublett (1902-1986). The duo headlined vaudeville shows around the country, and played major venues including Radio City Music Hall and the London Palladium.

Sublett was a major innovator, often referred to as the Father of Rhythm Tap. He is credited with being the first to drop his heels, whereas previous tappers stayed on their toes. Read more...
