Brigitte Jean Allen
Brigitte is a freelance writer/director and producer currently residing in Australia. She was born in Melbourne and grew up in Brisbane, completing a Bachelor of Communications at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, for which she was presented with the Dean's Award. As Supervising Producer, Brigitte recently headed the Canadian/Australian co-production feature film Absolute Deception (2012), starring Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jnr, and Australian War Epic The Stolen, shot in Victoria and starring Tony Bonner. She is now producing The Killer's List, starring Vinnie Jones, with director Phil Avalon; Ghost Dog, a family film starring Cary Elwes with Rex Media and Aristos Films; Kane, an American thriller setin Australia with America's Shoreline Entertainment and Aristos Films; and adventure/thriller Pirates in Paradise, with renowned Australian director Brian Trenchard Smith. Brigitte writes the hit Channel 7 lifestyle series Queensland's Best Living, and often works as a production designer for large budget film clips and events - including the very popular international Laneway Festival and Red Deer Festival. Brigitte is a true storyteller; a working musician and vocalist often performing under several different personas. Aside from writing music, she is currently working on her second novel and screenplay Shock to the Heart, a screenplay adaptation of her first novel A Funny Way to Die and a quintessentially Australian family film, The Camel Rider.
