Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Handsome and muscular leading man who made his screen debut in _Chanoc (1966)_. Born in Dominican Republic from Spanish parents who relocated to Mexico, García was a leading sex symbol from the late '60s into the '80s. He won a well-publicized bout with cancer in the '90s by -- it is claimed -- using an herbal remedy. His sons Andrés García Jr. and Leonardo García Vale are also actors.
